Illustrator CS5 Course Outline
The outline below is just a summary and does not necessarily reveal the entire substance of your Adobe® Illustrator CS5 training program.
Day 1
You will get acquainted with Adobe® Illustrator CS5 to find your way around the user interface. We'll explore various panels and tools to give your a first glimpse of this powerful visual artwork program. You will then get a hands-on training using selection tools and learn a few shortcuts that will really save you time again and again when working in Illustrator.
Learn to draw and edit primitive paths such as straight lines and curves using the pencil or pen tools. We'll deal with anchor points, Beziers curves, build simple and compound shapes.
By the end this first day you will gain a mastery of Illustrator's vector design tools and how to manipulate various attributes of curves and shapes. You will also learn how to use the text tool to control text characters, paragraphs, attach text to a path to achieve very artistic effects.
Day 2
We'll explore the appearance panel and learn how to modify objects' attributes and apply live effects to your artwork. You will finally learn how to apply color to fills and strokes, save custom color palettes, use linear and radial gradients.
You will also learn how to use pattern fills and even create your custom patterns. We'll also explore various settings and effects you can apply to strokes such as adding dashed lines, creating variable width strokes on paths, working with width profiles or changing strokes into filled paths.
You'll as lo learn how to group objects and work with layers.
Day 3
We'll dig deeper into managing multiple artboards in your Adobe® Illustrator CS5 design project. You will also learn about transforming and positioning your design assets in an artboard and discover how to use bitmap in Illustrator and create live trace of photographs to go from raster to vector graphics.
You'll also learn about working with symbols, using masks and drawing in perspective. We'll finally explore various options of saving, exporting and printing your finished artwork.
At the end of this Illustrator CS5 training, you would have gained the hands-on experience and learned the essentials to start creating digital artwork to transfer your visual inspiration into a digital canvas.
